What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
- Fourth or fifth time through this narrative.
- Community centric approach to overcoming access to modern pedagocial approaches, appropriate technology and lifting acheivement in low decile schools.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
- Groups - option to choose digest is a handy feature.
- Colour coding folders in Drive. Reminded of this tool.
- Mote: Voice notes - could be very helpful.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
- Not much new stuff other than above.
- Good to be able to spend some time using the drawing tool.
- Time to use some tools again was good and refreshed my general capabilities on google platform.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
- Very little as the tools I use in my personal life are significantly different and more dynamic environments. I especially try to avoid the extensive use of writing in most contexts.
Kia ora Daryl,
ReplyDeleteOk... so your last comment made me laugh out loud! I was intrigued as to how you manage 'to avoid the the extensive use of writing in most contexts' considering your role as tumuaki! But then I reread the last question again correctly and saw that it said "in my personal life". Now I am trying to figure out what Google tool you might need to work with to improve your golf swing...
I hope you continue to pick up tips and tricks that do add to your already extensive digital fluency kete. If nothing else during this course you will have the gift of uninterrupted time to explore things you might not normally get the opportunity to. Looking forward to your next reflection. M
Kia ora Daryl,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your reflection. I'm glad that there were some useful reminders of things you are already aware of. The drawing tool in docs and in Google Drawing itself can be really useful for us as professionals and for students too.
Looking forward to connecting with you again tomorrow.
